One of my most requested topics to cover is appropriate office wear looks. Whether the dress code errs on the side of professional or is more flexible, I've partnered with Ever New Melbourne to create 2 looks that will not only work within the office environment but also for whatever fun activities you have planned after that 5PM deadline.
I' often asked if I really do wear as many dresses to the office as I showcase on the blog and the answer is always yes. As a train commuter, dresses are my saving grace on mornings when I can't decide what to wear. They take the guesswork out of tops matching with bottoms and coordinating accessories. This long, dark floral number has been the perfect piece to wear now during transitional weather but will also come in handy on those brisk mornings. I plan on pairing the dress with dark tights, ankle boots and a cropped moto jacket for a cozier look. Another perfect pairing piece would be slouchy boots which we saw all over runways for this season.
The second look in this series strikes me as a more classic office look with a twist. I love the pairing of the moto jacket to add an element of something unexpected. I think for the purpose of heading in and out of work, it's appropriate, but if you work in a traditional environment, I might leave it at my desk for the day. This cropped top is the perfect length for pairing with pencil skirt or hi-rise work pants in the fall and winter season. I did love this oversized tote bag for heading in and out of the city. It was able to fit my laptop, notebook, makeup bag and more thanks to the organized compartments.
Happy work week everyone and here's to Friday at 5!
